What you pay for
When you settle a challan via ChallanSathi, two amounts are collected:
- Government fine — passed through to the relevant government authority. This is not retained by ChallanSathi.
- ChallanSathi service fee — our flat fee for facilitating the settlement. The applicable fee for each challan is shown on the checkout screen before you pay, and may include state-specific overrides for complex matters.
This Policy applies to refunds of the ChallanSathi service fee. Refunds of the government fine, where applicable, are subject to the policies of the relevant authority.
When the service fee is refunded
We will refund the service fee in full in the following situations:
- Unsettleable challan — our team determines, in good faith, that the paid challan cannot be settled (e.g. data mismatch, government-side block, jurisdiction not supported).
- Duplicate payment — you paid twice for the same challan due to a technical error.
- Service not commenced — payment was successful but, due to our error, no work was started within 7 working days.
When the service fee is not refundable
The service fee is non-refundable in the following situations:
- The challan has been successfully settled, whether the underlying government fine was paid as-is or after negotiation/contest.
- You change your mind after settlement work has begun with the government authority.
- The vehicle information you supplied is incorrect or you did not have authority to look it up.
Refund timeline
Approved refunds are initiated within 3 working days of confirmation. The amount is credited to your original payment method via Razorpay and typically appears in your account within 5 – 10 working days, depending on your bank.
How to claim a refund
- Email info@challansathi.in with your registered mobile number, the payment ID and a brief description.
- Our team will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and communicate the resolution within 7 working days.
- If approved, the refund is initiated within 3 working days and tracked via Razorpay.
Disputes
If you disagree with a refund decision, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer (see our Privacy Policy for the contact block) or pursue dispute resolution as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
